Privacy Policy
1. Introduction
At Purea Therapies, we are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information across our website, workshop registrations, and service enquiries. We handle personal information in line with the federal Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, and, because some of what we handle is health information, the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Personal identifiers such as your name, email address and phone number.
- Payment details, processed via secure payment processors (we do not retain full card data).
- Website usage data, such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and referring website.
- Marketing engagement information.
- Health information, only where it is relevant to the services you request, handled in accordance with the Health Records and Information Privacy Act 2002 (NSW).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide and personalise our services, to communicate about sessions and workshops, to understand and improve our website, and to meet our legal obligations.
4. Cookies & Analytics
We use privacy-friendly, cookieless website analytics to understand how our site is used, for example which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from. This does not identify you personally, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Disclosure & Third Parties
We share your information only with trusted providers who help us operate, for example Google Workspace (email) and Google Calendar (for bookings), and our enquiry-form and payment providers. Some of these may store data on secure servers outside Australia; we only use providers that protect your information to a comparable standard. We also disclose information where required by law.
6. Consent
We will obtain your consent to collect, use, and disclose your personal information for the purposes described in this policy. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Where sensitive information is involved, we will seek your explicit consent.
7. Your Choices
You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link.
8. Data Retention
We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, and then securely delete or de-identify it.
9. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without the consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your information, please contact us and we will investigate. If you remain unsatisfied, you may escalate the matter to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), or, for health information, the NSW Information and Privacy Commission (IPC).
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted here with a revised date.
